Search Expressions: The search expression field accepts one or more keywords and the following parameters in any combination:
- and-- finds instances of two or more words in a document. If only one term appears, it will not be a match. Note: If you enter multiple words, this form assumes you mean and. Example: industry and construction.
- or--finds instances of either of two words in a document. Example: biology or zoology; biology and cell or protoplasm.
- parenthesis--finds instances of the expression in parenthesis first and then the rest of the expression in a document. Example: renaissance and (dante or cervantes).
- not--finds instances of one or more words and not another word in a document. Example: literature not shakespeare.
- * --(wildcard asterisk) finds instances matching any form of the word. Note: only works at the end of a word. Example: edit* finds editor, editing, and editorial.
