Blue Star Art Space-
McNay Art Museum- Once the home of Marion Koogler McNay, a patroness of modern art, this historic structure houses works of such notable artists as Cezanne, Gaugin, Toulouse-Lautrec, Van Gogh, Winslow Homer, Diego Rivera, and El Greco. Two additional galleries house Indian art and crafts from New Mexico. Open Tues-Sat, 9am-5pm, Sun. noon-5pm. 6000 North New Braunfels Ave.
The San Antonio Museum of Art- Located in the renovated six-building complex of an 1883 historic brewery, the Museum of Art houses art of the Americas including pre-Columbian, American Indian, Spanish Colonial, and 18th-20th century American paintings and sculpture. Photography, period furniture, and decorative arts are also featured. Open Mon.-Sat. 10am-5pm (Tues. 9pm), Sun. noon-6pm. 200 W. Jones Avenue off Broadway.

The Alamo-
Missions of San Antonio- In addition to the Alamo, San Antonio is home to four historic missions established by Franciscan monks in the early 18th century. The massive church at Mission Concepcion is the oldest unrestored stone church in the U.S., while Mission Espada is especially popular with photographers, and has an aqueduct built in the 1740's as part of the Espada's irrigation system, which is now a National Historic Landmark. Mission San Jose features the oldest granary in Texas and a Rose Window in the chapel, while Mission San Juan showcases artifacts from the Spanish colonial period. Tower of the Americas- Located in Hemisfair Park in downtown San Antonio, the Tower has an Observation Deck with a fantastic view of the entire city, a Revolving Restaurant, and a Lounge. Open daily from 9am to 10 pm Sun-Thurs, 9am to 11pm Fri-Sat. (210) 207-8615.

Pear Apple County Fair, The Family Fun Park- A 15-acre park with miniature golf, go-karts, bumper cars, an indoor ferris wheel, games, rides, a café and an ice cream parlor. Sea World of Texas- Sea World's largest marine life park, with five performing stadiums for marine animal shows including dolphins, orcas, otters, walrus, seals and more. Enjoy other shows such as the "Baywatch at Sea World" water thrill show and the "Wheel Show". Water rides, enormous aquariums showcasing sharks, rays, and exotic fish, a children's play ground, and the new Great White roller coaster, and summer evening fireworks displays add to the magic, fun, and adventure. Splashtown- Sun, surf, or splash at this family waterpark, with dozens of slides, a kid's activity pool, and a huge wave pool. Buckhorn Museums- There's a lot to see at the Buckhorn Museums! Visit the home of 19th-century Texas short story writer O. Henry. Then see the more than 3,500 wildlife exhibits from around the world in the Buckhorn collection. Enjoy complementary Lone Star beer and fountain soda in one of the city's oldest saloons, the historic Buckhorn Bar (est. 1881). See memorable periods in Texas history depicted in the Hall of Texas History Wax Museum. The San Antonio Children's Museum- A fascinating hands-on museum with interactive displays such as a full-sized replica of a 727, a bulldozer kids can really operate, a pulley-driven elevator, a "bubble factory", and much more! Ripley's Believe It or Not! And Plaza Theatre of Wax. At Ripley's Believe It or Not! discover over 500 one-of-a-kind exhibits from the beautiful and bizarre collection of Robert Ripley. Institute of Texan Cultures- An educational center where learning about Texas history and cultures is fun! You'll find an exhibit floor featuring 27 of the ethnic/cultural groups that settled Texas; a multimedia show called Faces and Places of Texas; the Back 40, an interpretive area with historic structures and replicas; and a unique Texana and ethnic gift shop. The Witte Museum of History and Science- Located in Brackenridge Park near the Zoo, the Witte has fascinating regular exhibits, frequent special exhibits, and features the new H.E.B. Botanical Gardens- Over 33 acres of gardens, including the 3.5-acre Lucile Halsell Conservatory Complex, featuring exotic plants from around the world. The Botanical Gardens also feature native plant gardens representing different regions of Texas, an herb garden, a sacred garden, formal display gardens, a Japanese garden, a sensory garden, historic buildings, a restaurant, and a gift shop. Wonder World- It's Texas' fault and we're showing it off! Texas' only 30-million-year old earthquake-formed cave, more than 100 feet below the earth's surface. San Antonio Zoo- A large, world-class zoo with over 3,000 animals of over 700 different species, the San Antonio Zoo is the third-largest animal collection in North America and has a highly successful captive breeding program for endangered species such as the white rhino, snow leopard, and whooping crane. The Zoo has many naturalized animal habitats, seal and sea lion performances, children's zoo and play areas, reptile and penguin houses, and much more. Brackenridge Park- Surrounding the Witte Museum, the San Antonio Zoo, and the Japanese Gardens, Brackenridge Park offers several children's playgrounds, paddleboats on the river, a miniature train, a carousel, a cable car ride over the park, horseback riding on wooded trails, bicycling, and picnicking next to the San Antonio River in treed picnic areas with built-in barbeque pits and tables. Concession stands are also available at various locations throughout the park.

Cascade Caverns- The Caverns are a water-formed fairyland of fragile, delicate, and crystal-clear rock formations, upon which millions of glistening water drops continually fall. The 100-foot waterfall at which the 45-minute guided cavern tour culminates is a designated historical marker and an award-winning natural attraction.
